Information we collect
We collect email addresses, name, IP information, and for business customers physical addresses and VAT numbers.
Data is recorded for contractual reasons. That is MapServe provides a service and in order to do that we must record some data. You may optionally consent to receive marketing emails from us.
Use of Data
The data recorded is used to a) provide the MapServe service and b) to fufil our legal and financial obligations. If you join our mailing list your email address is used to send our newsletter and marketing offers.
We do have a number of links on our site to third party organisations. If you link to their sites, they may collect information. Such sites are not within our control and are not covered by this privacy statement. Any information we pass to third parties will be made explicit before you confirm approval.
If we believe that your use of the site is unlawful or damaging to others, we reserve the right to disclose the information we have obtained through the site about you to the extent that it is reasonably necessary in our opinion to prevent, remedy or take action in relation to such conduct.
Data is not shared or sold, in raw or aggregate form, unless either required by law officials (subject to our Terms and Conditions). We have no relationships with ad server companies.
Data Collection and Storage
MapServe collects data and stores it. We also use third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary equipment required to run the service. Specifically: Cloudflare, Amazon Web Service, RapidSwitch Google Analytics, Stripe, Intercom and MailChimp.
Retention and Withdrawal
MapServe retains data as long as an account is active. As data is used for contractual reasons it would not be possible to provide a service without the data.
Automated decision making
MapServe may use data to stop the signup of accounts suspected to be used for fraud reasons.
Right of appeal
You have a right of appeal. In the first instance please contact support. You can contact the ICO in the UK if you are not happy with our response.
All personal information is encoded using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology before being sent over the Internet. To protect your data further credit card information is stored with our PCI compliant payment processor. To make the most of the security on our site, we recommend a modern standards based compliant browser such as Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome.
